With $30 million in a Series B round announced Tuesday, Medigate is aiming to not only expand its security offering but also offer detailed analytics to help hospitals make better decisions about medical device usage to help control costs. “We really want to expand our product line and our vision to healthcare security as a whole,” says Medigate cofounder and CEO Jonathan Langer. “[With] the robustness of our data analytics platform, you can basically see anything in the hospital, so why only look at the edge of the network?”
Orca Security CEO Avi Shua said despite advances in DevSecOps, there remains a clear need for segregation of responsibilities between cybersecurity teams and developers. Mistakes will always be made, he said, so cybersecurity professionals will also need to verify that the right controls have been implemented.
