The Next Frontier of Cloud Security: Introducing Native Security

By Ofer Schreiber | Mar 17, 2026

Amit Megiddo, Native’s CEO & Co-Founder, and I have been friends for more than twenty years, and I always knew he would find the problem worth solving. When he started working through the opportunity, I was part of those conversations as a friend. As the team came together and it became clear just how much they understood about the problem at a level nobody else in this space could match, the conviction to invest followed naturally. Today, watching that conviction become Native Security and a $42M funding milestone, is a moment of genuine pride – professionally and personally. Backed by YL Ventures, Ballistic Ventures, General Catalyst and Merlin Ventures, and, this team is building the architectural foundation that enterprise cloud security has been missing.

The most advanced enterprises in the world, organizations with the most sophisticated security teams and the most complex cloud environments, are still struggling to continuously enforce their own standards across their infrastructure. Current cloud security strategies rely too heavily on reactive detection. Major CNAPP and CSPM vendors prioritize visibility, which surfaces threats only after they already exist in the environment. Native Security shifts the industry toward proactive prevention, replacing manual alert responses with an automated enforcement layer that keeps infrastructure secure by design.

At AWS, leading GuardDuty, Amit watched the world’s largest enterprises reach the structural limits of traditional security controls from the inside. Gal Ordo, Native’s Co-Founder and CPO, led AWS Security Hub. Eyal Faingold, Co-Founder and CTO, was VP R&D at Dome9, one of the industry’s first CSPM platforms, and later VP Cloud Security at Check Point. Together, the three represent the strongest founding team in cloud security today, and their collective depth of experience is a genuine unfair advantage. The caliber of the talent at Native extends well beyond the founders. The company has assembled a dream team of cloud security executives – Naama, Richie, Jeannie, and Raz bring the kind of professional depth required to build at this scale.

The security services that hundreds of thousands of enterprises depend on today exist in part because of the work of Native’s founders. They understand how native cloud controls function at the deepest technical level, where they break down at enterprise scale, and what closing those gaps across AWS, Azure, and GCP actually requires. Every major cloud ships with powerful built-in security capabilities. The problem has always been that applying them consistently across multi-cloud environments demands a level of knowledge that almost nobody in this industry has. Amit, Gal, and Eyal have it, and no other founding team in this space comes close.

Native represents the necessary evolution beyond the CSPM and CNAPP era. Where detection tools leave security teams manually bridging the gap between standards and configurations, Native automates the entire enforcement lifecycle, ensuring environments remain aligned as both business requirements and cloud providers evolve. Cloud security stops being a series of reactive interventions and becomes a property of the architecture itself. Prevention-first and secure-by-design, it addresses the problem at the source rather than layering more detection on top of a flawed foundation.

The response from Fortune 500 organizations confirmed our thesis. These are the most demanding buyers in enterprise security, and their early adoption speaks directly to the validity of the approach. We are proud that Phil Venables, former CISO of Google Cloud and one of the most respected figures in the industry, has joined us on this journey. The quality of people choosing to stand behind Native at this stage is not incidental.

The strong momentum in the market and the capital raised reflect the ground this team has already covered and the depth of conviction behind them. We are proud to partner with top tier global VCs in backing what I believe is the strongest founding team in cloud security today.

Amit, Gal, Eyal and the entire Native team: congratulations on the launch. The most consequential work is still ahead, and there is no team better positioned to do it!
