I'm thrilled to introduce our newest portfolio company - Aim Security, offering holistic security for GenAI!
Open ModalThere were only a handful of times throughout modern technological history in which one could experience standing on the precipice of a revolution. With the cloud revolution being our most recent frame of reference, in 2023 Generative AI brought about tectonic shifts in how modern business would operate going forward. Much like its cloud predecessor, the Generative AI revolution will inspire greatness in innovation across all sectors, and devising a sustainable strategy for securing it requires a wide and long-ranging vision. I am pleased to introduce Aim Security, YL Ventures’ new portfolio company that is taking GenAI adoption to new – and secure – heights.
With a $10M seed round from YL Ventures, Aim’s talented team led by founders – Matan Getz (CEO) and Adir Gruss (CTO), has built the industry’s first holistic security platform for all GenAI use cases, securing the adoption of this groundbreaking technology and allowing security teams to champion business productivity without compromising security priorities. Much like with any nascent technology, there are varying security challenges surrounding GenAI adoption, and we saw our share of potential startup founders trying to innovate in this budding sector. In Matan and Adir, we saw entrepreneurs with a long-term vision to build a massive security company that will lead this emerging category for years to come.
The founders’ broad vision was only second to their impressive ability to execute. When I met Matan and Adir for the first time, I immediately knew these were the types of founders we needed to partner with. GenAI is still a developing, fluid and exploratory field, and there is no clear definition of what “Security for GenAI” really means. Addressing security concerns in such a dynamic and constantly evolving sector is a monumental challenge, with new threats and risks rising every day. Still, Matan and Adir took this challenge on with agility. They were able to quickly adapt to feedback, ignore the hype and embrace new ideas that emerged during their calls with numerous CISOs and security professionals from YL Ventures’ network.
Much like with any other exciting technological space, many other teams within the global and local cybersecurity ecosystems are attempting to address GenAI security challenges, but Aim’s holistic vision looks beyond building narrow tools that address specific problems – they have the broad vision to fix the entire breadth of security challenges that enterprises are dealing with, even in the most traditional, heavily regulated industries. Rather than focusing on the trendiest aspects of GenAI as their selling point, Matan and Adir aim to solve the most pernicious and persisting problems that security leaders will face with increased GenAI adoption – visibility, compliance, governance, access management, data protection and more. Aim’s customers – secured even before their official launch – respond positively to Aim’s ability to address real challenges in real time. Going beyond “security first,” Aim is the leading security startup in this space that encourages GenAI adoption, empowering CISOs in strategic discussions with C-level executives, in board rooms and AI committees about how to adopt these technologies. With Aim, CISOs are no longer the blockers of this hyper-productivity technology, but enablers that also provide eye-opening business insights about the actual usage of such technologies within the enterprise and how to improve and maximize it over time, using Aim’s uniquely broad visibility and analytics.
In October 2023, Matan and Adir were deeply entrenched in building and growing their new company ahead of their launch, when the war between Israel and Hamas broke out. The majority of Aim’s employees have cybersecurity and tech backgrounds from elite Israeli intelligence units. Armed with this experience, almost the entire company – including both founders – immediately reported for reserve duty while actively balancing their new startup’s needs and requirements. Matan and Adir have built an exceptional team of top-notch technological experts and cybersecurity specialists, who knew both founders due to their wide network and remarkable reputation within the Israeli intelligence community. They are the epitome of what it means to be a top Israeli cybersecurity expert – dedication, resilience and talent, which both their country and their customers strongly value.
We are proud to support Aim Security as it revolutionizes Security for GenAI, and have faith in its ability to lead, drive and secure GenAI adoption across the enterprise.
